Interfaith San Antonio Alliance (ISAA) brings people of diverse faith traditions together to foster understanding, strengthen relationships, and build a more compassionate and inclusive community. Through signature programs such as the annual Festival of Faiths, ISAA creates spaces for dialogue, celebration, and shared civic engagement.
Position Summary
The Executive Director provides visionary leadership and day-to-day management for Interfaith San Antonio Alliance. This role is responsible for advancing ISAA’s mission through program planning, fundraising and sponsor relations, Board partnership, community engagement, and organizational administration. The Executive Director serves as ISAA’s primary ambassador, cultivating relationships across faith communities, civic institutions, and the broader public.
This position requires a flexible schedule, with increased hours and availability during peak programming periods, particularly the annual Festival of Faiths.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Program Management
- Plan, implement, and manage ISAA programs and initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission
- Direct and oversee the annual Festival of Faiths, including planning, coordination, promotion, and execution
- Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements
Development & Sponsor Relations
- Lead sponsor development efforts, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Manage sponsor communications and correspondence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners
Board Relations & Governance
- Partner with the Board of Directors to advance strategic priorities
- Support Board cultivation, engagement, and communications
- Prepare reports and materials for Board meetings and committees
Financial & Administrative Management
- Maintain financial records and oversee basic bookkeeping and reporting
- Track budgets, expenses, and income in coordination with the Board Treasurer
- Handle general administrative duties, including communication, correspondence, and record keeping
Communications & Digital Presence
- Manage and update ISAA’s website and social media platforms
- Develop and oversee messaging that reflects ISAA’s values and programs
- Promote events, programs, and organizational impact
Community Engagement & Public Representation
- Serve as a public spokesperson for ISAA through public speaking, presentations, and media engagement
- Build relationships across diverse faith communities, nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, and partners
- Represent ISAA at community events and gatherings
Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated appreciation for and ability to work respectfully with diverse faith traditions and belief systems
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience in nonprofit leadership, program management, fundraising, or community engagement preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical proficiency and ability to function on multiple platforms
- Comfort with public speaking and relationship-based work
- Financial literacy and experience with basic record keeping
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, especially during Festival season
Work Schedule & Environment
This position offers a flexible schedule but requires additional hours during peak periods, particularly leading up to and during the annual Festival of Faiths. Some evening and weekend work is expected.
The Executive Director will work from home, must provide personal computer, phone, office equipment and have reliable transportation.
